-School enrollment, if applying for children

In person: Visit your local Department of Human Services (DHS) office

-You’ll receive a notice in the mail within 30 days (or 7 days for emergencies).

-DHS may contact you to complete a phone or in-person interview.

-You can track and manage your benefits at OneDHS.

–You can also apply for other services like TennCare (Medicaid), Families First (TANF), and Child Care Payment Assistance through the same portal.

-If you’re unhoused, living in transitional housing, or staying with others, you can still apply. Use the address of a shelter or trusted contact to receive your mail.
